Ways to Improve Your Eyesight Naturally...

improve your eyesightOur eyes are right near the top of one of the most valued of our five senses. It is important that we protect our eyes so that our vision will last the duration of our lives. Good nutrition is highly important so that we get the vitamins that we need for healthy vision. Sleeping what our bodies require each night is also important so that our eyes have the opportunity to rest. This is generally 7 to 8 hours for most people. Going for regular eye examinations is highly important as well.

Those are pretty well known health habits that most people are aware of, but did you know that you can do more to protect your vision? Eye exercises that may improve your eyesight are practiced by many people everyday. These people claim that their vision is restored close to their normal vision when they do these exercises regularly.

Below are several exercises that you can practice at home several times a week to improve your eyesight if you are the victim of a vision defect.

  • While sitting in a chair hold a small object in front of your face. Make sure to keep your eyes focused on this object at all times and slowly back it away from you. Repeat this exercise several times.
  • Cover each eye with one of your hands. Close your eyes while they are covered. Make sure that your hands are cupped and that no light is coming through and that there is no pressure on your eyes. Imagine yourself in total blackness. This should be done for 10 minutes every day for approximately three times. When you sleep you should keep your room dark and keep all lights and the television off. Your eyes need total rest to restore their weariness and improve your eyesight.

  • Several times throughout the day, whenever the opportunity arises, alternate between closing your eyes tightly and opening your eyes for 5 seconds each time. To increase blood flow to the eyes roll them both clockwise and counterclockwise several times. Make sure that you blink your eyes in between rolling them.
  • While sitting in a relaxed position in a comfortable chair, close your eyes. Very gently press your eyelids with your fingertips and slowly massage your eyes in a circular fashion. Do this for a minute or two to help improve your eyesight.
  • Focus your eyes on two objects alternating between an object near by and another object somewhat off in the distance. Repeat this exercise four or five times.

While these exercises will help to improve your eyesight it is still important to follow the above suggestions regarding regular eye exams and adequate sleep and nutrition.
